Jamie Ward's Butchers
Jamie Ward originally began as a dairy and pig farmer before setting up a successful family run butchery business 15 years ago when he started attending Oswestry Farmer’s Market with a selection of pork and sausages. Since then the business has expanded to supplying local shops and garden centres and of 2013 he was invited to join Bellis Brother Farm Shop and Garden Centre.
Produce includes a selection of pork, sausages, dry cured bacon, ham and gluten free products from his own free-range pigs and all beef and lamb is Welsh sourced from three local abattoirs. Fresh pork cuts are taken from Gloucester Old Spot Pigs obtained from Thomas’s abattoir at Rhos and all the bacon and sausages are cured and made from the home cutting plant. Chicken is British Farm assured from local poultry dealers. With a selection of local cheeses and homemade pies, Jamie’s team takes great pride in offering the highest quality local produce and wishes to assure customers that, apart from a selection of Spanish Iberico Serrano Ham and Chorizos, everything else is UK sourced.
Just five months after opening Jamie Ward’s team of butchers have scooped multiple awards at the prestigious 2014 Welsh National Awards for Excellence in Meat Products. Having entered categories for sausages, bacon, pork pies, burgers and lamb products they picked up an incredible 12 Gold Awards.
